We may be a new EM residency, but the ‘Loyola’ name is not new to Emergency Medicine. Stritch students are present at a large number of Residencies, Fellowships, Academic Institutions & Community Groups throughout the country – many holding Department and Residency Leadership positions.
Our Loyola EM faculty are immensely involved in the teaching of our medical students. Because of this involvement, Emergency Medicine has been one of the most popular residency choices for Stritch students for several years now. It has been in the top 2 for the last 3 years, with ~12% of the graduating class matching into EM in the last 5 years.
Our Alumni Network is present & growing. These individuals care about the Loyola name, and remember well the dedication of our EM faculty, and the help they were given to advance their careers. Please do not think that as a graduate from our EM residency that you will be entering into the world of EM without a large family of graduates looking to support you.
The map below shows a sample of the graduates of the last 5 years, who practice as Emergency Medicine physicians. It shows their current position, and shows if they are in leadership positions – e.g. Chief Resident, Assistant/Associate Program Director etc.
